Members of the Greensboro Mural Project set up by the wall in question several afternoon during Spring 2015 asking people walking by if they’ve ever noticed the wall, and what they would like to see content wise. Based on their response lead artist, Alejo Salcedo, created two options that were again brought back to the streets and encouraged the public to vote on the design they wanted to pass by. One person suggested that we combine them, and that’s what we did! The final design draws on the themes of justice and community that people were suggesting, using the cogs in the wall to represent workers, while also paying homage to the location proximity to ReCycles Bike Shop.
