Interactive Resource Center Mural
After the success of the Mural Project’s first wall on Lindsay Street, Liz Seymour, executive director of the Interactive Resource Center, contacted the project about doing a mural at the IRC.
The IRC provides services to people managing homelessness. In order to collect inspiration for the mural’s design, project members interviewed about 100 people, many of whom had used the IRC’s services, and asked them, “What makes home?” Greensboro artist Justin Poe collected the answers into a design, overlaid on a map of the city.
For this wall the Greensboro Mural Project owes many thanks: to the people who donated to our Kickstarter campaign, to the volunteers who lent a hand in painting, to the IRC and to the people we interviewed. We could not have done it without you!
To hear some of the answers we received, check out this film showcasing some of the interviews we conducted:
We hope you will be able to join us with future walls!
